The Howling: Rahnee She-Wolf!

"The Howling" is a new segment I'll be working on where I give you guys my opinions on certain characters. Because there are so many fans out there who have not read The Final Quest, there is a limit to the things I can post regarding that while preventing too many spoilers. Okay! Now to begin the Howling!

Rahnee She-Wolf

Rahnee is without a doubt my favorite female Wolfrider Chief. She's got spunk, drive, passion, and let's not forget: hot! Despite having other siblings, Rahnee was chosen by her father Chief Timmorn Yellow Eyes - son of Timmain the High One and a WOLF - to lead the tribe in his absence. I admire Rahnee because despite being named Chief when the people basically still saw her as a child - and even though there was some level of disrespect there in the association the elves had with her - she still managed to lead them well. Rahnee's presence demanded authority; deserved it: and she got it.

She wasn't entirely perfect however as the chief found herself battling a familiar call within that her father had once been faced with...her blood. Was she a pure elf? A wolf? Only the lull of Recognition was able to calm her colliding soul. Rahnee held far more similarities to her sire Timmorn than I think most of the fan base would recognize or care to admit: but that's why I love her. It's hard not to love her. Although I was often left confused and feeling so torn inside when it came to her romantic relationships. Though I liked Zarhan I always felt as if something were...i don't know: off about their unity and in turn Recognition. They cared for each other, but i always sensed some strain there. I don't know, maybe I thought too deep on it.

Another thing I respect about her is that Rahnee developed a decent number of the rules in hunting that the Wolfriders of past and present abide by. "Never in jest or lust of the hunt; Never with cruelty or meanness; Never a mother with young if there's another choice to be made." Rahnee did what it took to ensure the survival of her tribe, but even still was attuned with the balance of nature - with necessity, and right and wrong. It was "The Way" - and she demonstrated some of the first signs of the laws our wolf blooded whelps hold oh so dear.

There's not much else i can say about Rahnee. I will be honest: when the artwork had been done by someone else, I wasn't quite as interested in the story. There's just something about Wendy's hand! Haha.

So what do you think? What are your thoughts on Rahnee? Did you love her? Hate her even? Let me know! I'm always interested in hearing new things, thoughts, and ideas - especially about our beloved characters in the ElfQuest world.

Speaking of Artwork: I will close this short post, as i will do with all my posts, with my favorite drawings of Rahnee that I could find!

And of course my favorite Rahnee illustration:

Fresh love to you all,

EQ+C=a^ :D (ElfQuest plus Cosplay equals Infinite AWESOMENESS!)

Let's just be honest here. We've all thought of doing it. Heck, some of us have even relished the ones who HAVE done it! What is this mysteriously liberating event I'm talking about? COSPLAY!

There's something exhilarating; something ELECTRIFYING about cosplay! But for so many of us (or in this case YOU since I've never actually cosplayed...YET) it's deeper than just dressing up as a fictional character. Cosplay is like, immersing yourself deeper into that world you love so much - you're actually becoming a part of it! Bringing it to life!

I love seeing ElfQuest cosplays because there are so many people out there who don't know what EQ is and that, in my humble opinion, is friggin terrible! By cosplaying you're broadcasting ElfQuest, introducing it to so many people and maybe even getting them to dive into the world we all have loved so very much. I call it: Conforming them to EQism.

But cosplay itself must take some guts in my mind. I mean, I must commend every single person who goes out and does it. Me, myself, I'm so shy and insecure about my body and everything and basically I don't think i'd do well at it. Pathetic, I know. But to those who do it: hoorah for you! You've got spunk and a level of self confidence that is through the roof! Do your thing boyfriends and girlfriends! *insert neck roll here*

I'm so jealous of cosplayers! Who wouldn't be? Not only do you get to bring into reality the beauty, mystery, seduction, and love and unity of the ElfQuest world, but you look so epic accomplishing it! I mean come on: There are so many of you guys out there that do it so well!

Oh the beauty of it! OH THE BEAUTY OF IT!
My jealousy cannot be explained in mere words!

I cannot wait until the day we finally get our ElfQuest: The Gathering Convention up and running! Can you imagine it? So many EQ fans together in one spot: enveloping ourselves in our love for what Richard and Wendy Pini have brought us. I can hear the howls. I guarantee you all, when that day comes I, Nightfall She-Wolf will cosplay; and together we all will conform the world to the light of EQism! Hahaha. Until next time.
