Well we're glad you asked! We know that ElfQuest has some (deliciously) adult content. In fact, the realistic advantage on this marvelous world of fantasy we all have come to love is what has kept so much of the fan base steadily faithful. Despite the differences, EQ has always had a prominent level of relatability - and to be frank, WE FRIGGIN' LOVE IT!

 

However, truth of the matter is: adults aren't the only ones who enjoy ElfQuest. In actuality, in a vast assortment of EQ groups or forums, you will find tons of longtime readers - and parents - who not only started reading EQ at young ages themselves (myself included - I was barely in elementary school when I discovered my newfound love), but have also introduced the comic to their children. And needless to say, many of these said children have taken the torch and are running enthusiastically with it.

 

So, why should the young ones be denied the experience of a lifetime?

ElfQuest radiates in the love and comfort that tribe or family (is there ever really a difference?) can bring. Why not let that feeling soar on the grounds of The Gathering?

 

One thing we and ElfQuest DEFINITELY share is love for family

(mates, cubs, and those who have earned the title).

That being said, of course The Gathering will be family friendly! We wouldn't want it any other way. It is our intention that everyone of all ages be able to enjoy the fun - and with so many wonderful people around, how can it be anything other than a good time? I can hear the sounds of laughter running through the air already. Can't you? No? Well, it'll probably be something a little like this:

All jokes aside, we of course want people to understand what they are coming to howl to. Naturally there won't be any "Go-Back" styled, fire pit partying going on - you all know very darn well what kind of partying I'm talking about (NOT that we're cutting out a jolly good fire pit dance) - but we don't want anyone to be offended. For example: cosplay. A lot of our EQ characters' dress has been considered "barely there" by other fans. I'm sure there will be an assortment of characters being cosplayed at The Gathering, so if you are a parent uncomfortable with your children being around exposed skin - great - but then you might want to make this a trip for adults only. If you are not uncomfortable with this, great! Bring the whole tribe!

ElfQuest Fans DESERVE Respect, And We Won't Give You Anything Less!

Sometimes people just bring out your inner Winnowill...

Naturally this search for our temporary (or perhaps even permanent) holt has been exciting and eye opening! But just as with all good things, it has been frustrating too! Aside trying to find the time amidst our hectic schedules to do a thorough search and even look into the suggestions from fans, there is still the issue of "attitudes". I have not dealt with anything bad until this week when I contacted a location and w...as met with terrible customer service AND what seemed to be insult/disrespect concerning our venture! Now you all know I'm as sweet as a kitten sipping warm milk by the fireplace in the winter MOST of the time - but I have my limits and they were pushed! So, that's one less likely spot on my end! Still, despite my irritation we continue to press forward. There is a lot of time ahead of us and I remain hopeful. But I assure you that we will have things together, and when we DO, you all can expect nothing but the utmost RESPECT in wherever we go and whatever we do! We love our followers and EQ fans as much as we love ElfQuest as a whole - out of that love, it is our wish to supply everyone the best time, and wouldn't dare subject you to anything less...especially from our servicers! What You Need To Know About The Gathering...

As we've stated before, The Gathering convention is in its beginning stages, which means information and resources are currently limited. HOWEVER, we here at the Gathering have made it imperative to keep our followers as informed as possible as new details surface. Below is a short list of FAQ's concerning this convention (please expect for this to be updated as time passes). Alright, here we go:

What is ElfQuest: The Gathering?
It is an organization of an ElfQuest Convention here in the United States. There seems to be a lot of EQ related get togethers and such overseas but very little in the U.S.A., so we're working to get one started. Besides, lets be honest: ElfQuest DESERVES its own convention!

The idea for the Gathering was originally founded by Kitt Mouri (Leetah KinSeeker), and Shekinah Smith (Nightfall She-Wolf) joined her directly afterwards. Since then, we have also received help through Mandy Roncalio-Meyer (Shadowfire) and many others. Together, we will be holding Councils (discussions) and will keep you all posted as new information develops.

When is the convention going to be?
Right now we have a tentative date set for June 2018 - that gives us over two and a half years to plan this convention as efficiently as possible for the benefit of everyone! As we move further along in the process an official date will become available. Until then, please bear with us!

Where is the convention going to be?
As of right now, the convention will take place in East Elmhurst, New York at the:

New York LaGuardia Airport Marriot 

102-05 Ditmars Blvd, East Elmhurst, NY 11369

The Marriott is only a 5-7 minute drive from LaGuardia Airport!

Originally we planned for two smaller, sister gatherings (east coast, and west coast) before moving onto a larger convention. If you're concerned about costs, we are working hard to get convention attendees a decent group rate with the hotel. In the event you cannot stay at the Marriott, there are also a few other hotels right in the surrounding area. We will also be looking into group travel rates for our attendees via Amtrak, Plane, and even Bus!

Will there be any special events?
You're darn tootin there will be events! We will work hard to come up with activities that everyone can enjoy! It is also my hope that we establish a method where everyone (even those who cannot make it physically) can feel involved in the fun, whether it be during or after!

Is Cosplay allowed?
OF COURSE! All attendees are more than welcome to cosplay, in fact, it is encouraged. We only ask that your cosplays be EQ related (including Future Quest, Jink). We encourage creativity - whether its a steampunk EQ character, or your own self-elf - but coming as outside characters (such as anime, video games, etc) is discouraged. Let's try to keep this convention as ElfQuest as possible.

Will Wendy and Richard Pini be there?
"One added bonus, we have been in contact with Wendy and Richard on this and as a result, they had a preference for New York. We needed to accommodate them as they are our... GUESTS OF HONOR!" - Kitt

It is our greatest hope to have mom and pop elf be able to attend this momentous occasion. In fact, we chose 2018 because Final Quest should be done by then and we're trying to allot them a time of rest. However, if they cannot come, we will still howl to the moon and back and look forward to the next convention.

These are just some basic FAQ's and their answers, but remember that this is a process, and as this process continues more information will come into the light. So please continue to follow our social media sites to stay up to date on the latest information as it comes!

IT'S COMING!

Hold onto your elf ears everybody, because we here at ElfQuest the Gathering have got some great news to share! We have heard your cries! Mark your calendars - ELFQUEST THE GATHERING IS COMING EARLY JUNE 2018!

Yes you heard that right! The convention of a lifetime has just gotten closer to becoming a reality. After some deliberation between Leetah Kinseeker and myself, and our newest addition Mandy (and thanks to a suggestion from ElfQuest fan Kristin - big thank you out to Kristin for being the spark that has lit our candles), we decided to make the beginning of June 2018 a tentative date for the festivities! (As we get more information a specific date will come forward. Until then, bear with us)

Why 2018 you ask? The Final Quest is projected to end in 2017, and we want to give Mom and Pop Elf a few months to take a breather from all the excitement and work before potentially partaking in this new adventure! This also gives us (The Gathering ElfQueteers and Council) enough time to solidify any additional technicalities necessary for this North American convention (such as: location, vendors, hotel info, activities, and so forth).

There is so much to do and plan between now and then, and we are sure that there will be many answers crying out to us from the fandom - but no worries! EQ The Gathering will do everything in our power to keep you guys up to date as information comes in. To stay posted on the most recent of details as they come, please join and/or follow the posted social media sites below.

We know that sometimes life tends to throw curveballs our way, so EQ The Gathering is also working hard to come up with ways to make EVERYONE feel involved during the festivities once the convention starts - yes, even those who unfortunately will not be able to join us physically. We already have considered a couple options and will discuss them more further along in this process!

As exciting as this is, and even though we will soon embark on this profound and exhilarating journey, we can't do this alone. YOU are just as important to the fruition of this dream! Offer us your time, ideas, and services; volunteer and become a member of The Gathering crew!

Together this convention will not only be successful and remain thus, but can be something that all of the ElfQuest fandom can look forward to for years to come! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!

FIGHT For ElfQuest The Gathering

It has been a long fight over the time that has past. Between multiple emergencies and delays and other problems flowing between Leetah Kin-Seeker, myself, and our newest member Mandy, searches had to be put on hold. We've been working hard to locate venues on our own and recently got a third party (Mandy) in to help us out but alas, this journey has been a difficult one. It seems as if every turn we face leads down another crossroad with dead ends all around us. We need help. Tons of it! Resources are so scarce that at times it just seems as if this thing will never get up on it's feet.

YET WE CONTINUE TO STRIVE FORWARD! WE WILL NOT LET ANYTHING STOP US! The Gathering is a momentous occasion that fans all across this country have been crying out for, for years! It is time to silence those cries and push to bring the ElfQuest Convention of a lifetime to fruition!
